Outdoor fun…Letterboxing

I recently got to try out a great activity that you can do with your kids outside: letterboxing.

At one website, letterboxing is described as “an intriguing pastime combining navigational skills and rubber stamp artistry in a charming treasure hunt style outdoor quest. A wide variety of adventures can be found to suit all ages and experience levels.”

Letterboxing is a fun way to combine family time, outdoor fun, adventure, and stamp collection.

Below are some links to letterboxing websites:

Try it out with your kids…it’s very cool!

  1. Thanks for the info. Someone mentioned they did this with their kids, but I couldn’t find the info when I searched.

  2. Cath–remind the newbies that the boxes are to be kept “secret” so onlookers won’t ruin the game…kids love this part as well!

I love this activity & so do my kids–no technology at all (other then looking up the clues)…it is nice to be away from that for awhile!
