Cottonwood parade

I was sitting in my driveway one day while tiny pieces that had fallen from Cottonwood trees swirled through the air.

They stuck to the screens on my windows, gathered in the gutters in clumps, decorated my garden with the appearance of fluffy snow, and snuck inside on shoes, heads, and clothes. The tiny pieces was everywhere!

Cottonwoods and their generous dumping of “cotton balls” have also added to a strong allergy season for many friends and family.

Yet as I watched them swirl through the air on a gentle breeze, I was amazed at how delightful it is to watch them fly through the air; white as snow, but a sign of a spring in full swing!
