In my last post I wrote about the idea of being washed clean. This summer our Vacation Bible School did a really cool snack idea that had to do with this idea. You could make this snack with your kids and teach them about God’s Word at the same time.
This is the recipe, and what each item in the recipe means:
- Fill the bottom of a cup with dark graham cracker crumbs (this represents our sins)
- On top of the graham cracker crumbs, put a spoonful of cherry pie filling (this represents the blood that Jesus shed to save us from our sins)
- On top of the cherry pie filling, put a spoonful of whipped cream (this represents us as our sins are washed clean because Jesus took our sins when He died on the cross for us)
I thought this was such a fun (and easy) way to teach a great lesson. Try it out, and bon appetit!

LOVE IT, Cathi–it will quadruple the impact to do this at home.

And it is delicious too! I don’t always eat the snacks at VBS but this was too good to resist.
