Gardens: How we connect to God

In my last post I shared a parable where Jesus used the example of a plant in a garden. He also refers to a gardener at another time. In John 15:1, we’re told, “Jesus said to his disciples: I am the true vine, and my Father is the gardener.”

What I love about this reference to God the Father as the gardener is that first, Jesus is the one who connects us to God the Father, and second, God the Father, as the gardener, is always watching over us.

Again, by Jesus using an everyday description (a garden), He made it more possible for us to understand His Word and our relationship. I love that He gave us this gift.

In my next post, I will share a garden that was a part of Jesus’ important ministry.
