Three times

Simon Peter was warned about the three times, in John 13:36-38.

Soon after, Peter denied Jesus three times.  First in John 18:15-18, and then two more times in John 18:25-27.

Peter saw Jesus suffer. He saw Jesus die. He hid in fear with others who had loved Jesus.

Then, it happened! He saw Jesus after He rose from the dead. He saw that Jesus was alive, real, a conqueror of death!

And, on a beach with his Lord, Peter had the chance to tell Jesus he loved Him three times.

In John 21:15-17, it says, “When they had finished breakfast, Jesus said to Simon Peter, “Simon, son of John, do you love me more than these?” He said to him, “Yes, Lord; you know that I love you.” He said to him, “Feed my lambs.” He said to him a second time, “Simon, son of John, do you love me?” He said to him, “Yes, Lord; you know that I love you.” He said to him, “Tend my sheep.” He said to him the third time, “Simon, son of John, do you love me?” Peter was grieved because he said to him the third time, “Do you love me?” and he said to him, “Lord, you know everything; you know that I love you.” Jesus said to him, “Feed my sheep.”

If the Lord asked if you loved Him, what would your answer be?
