Creative Craving

Every once in a while, I get a craving to do something “creative”, whether it is writing music, sewing, playing piano, other something else.

Recently, I spent a good amount of time sewing cushions for benches on our back porch. I’d ever made cushions before! It was a delightful project, partly because it was a joy to finally do something that involved enjoying warm weather (it was a looooong winter), but mostly because I was able to spend time with my mom while I put the cushions together.

Here’s a picture of the top and bottom of the cushions.

Most of the time I work on creative projects, it is because I get a “burst” of energy or a “jumble” of ideas, and they just pour out. After finishing the cushions I started sewing travel pillows for several family members, and then started sewing some presents for this Christmas (those are a secret!). I just continued to want to sew and create, and it was fun.

Do you ever get a creative craving? What do you like to do that uses your creative skills?
